Use of Community Center Terms & Conditions
The
building and site and equipment of the Opportunities Unlimited (OU) Community
Center will be made available for a fee to local entities which promote cultural,
educational, civic, community, or recreational activities. Such use will be
permitted only when the use does not interfere with or disrupt the normal
flow of the day for OU clients, the use consistent with state law, and will
end no later than midnight. The Governing Board reserves the right to deny
use of the building, site, and equipment to any group. It shall be within
the discretion of the President & CEO to allow use of building, site,
and equipment on Sunday.
The OU Community Center shall not be made available for projects
for private gain or business promotion unless sponsored and/or endorsed by
the Sioux City Chamber of Commerce.
Organizations, individuals, and other entities who wish to use
the OU Community Center property must make application with the President
& CEO or the Executive Assistant. It shall be the responsibility of the
President & CEO to determine whether the facility is available and whether
the application for use meets the policy and regulations of Opportunities
Unlimited. It shall be the responsibility of the Executive Assistant to draw
up the contract for use of OU property.
Activities in the building and site shall be supervised by an
employee of OU unless special arrangements are made with the President &
CEO. The employee shall not accept a fee from the user. If appropriate, the
OU employee may be paid by OU.
The board may allow entities to use the building and site without
charge. While such groups may use the building and site without charge, they
may be required to pay a custodial fee.
Use of the gym for recreational purposes or team practices will
be taken into consideration when assessing fees.
It shall be the responsibility of the President & CEO to develop
a fee schedule for the Governing Board's approval and to develop regulations
regarding this policy.
All requests made by organizations, individuals, and/or other
entities for long-term use of the Community Center will be directed to the
President & CEO. A determination will be made at his/her discretion.
